Finding an apartment in China can be confusing — listings are in Chinese, agents take commissions, and photos don’t always match reality. Our housing rental WeChat groups solve this: real offers from landlords and trusted agents, honest feedback from tenants, and quick answers about districts, prices, deposits, and contracts, all in one chat.
Why join a housing WeChat group
- Fresh listings: new apartments, rooms, and houses posted daily, often before they reach the public sites.
- Direct from landlords: many offers come straight from owners, which can save you the agent’s fee.
- Local knowledge: ask which districts are convenient, what a fair price looks like, and how utilities and deposits work.
- Real reviews: hear from tenants who already live in the compound you’re considering.

Renting in China — quick tips
- Never pay a deposit before viewing the apartment in person or on a live video call.
- Check the landlord’s ownership certificate and ID before signing anything.
- Expect “one month deposit, one to three months’ rent up front” as the common formula in most cities.
- Register your address with the local police station after moving in — it’s required for foreigners.
- Ask the group first: a quick question in the chat can save you from a bad contract.
